Corporate Mass & 5th Sunday Rosary

The Council is holding a Corporate Mass with a 5th Sunday Rosary Program to follow it, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish this Sunday April 30th at 9 AM. All Knights and their families are welcome to join us and sit together as a group at Mass, to show our unity and support for our council and our parish. Directly following the Mass, brothers from our council will lead all those attending in the 5th Sunday Rosary. If possible, though not required, please wear either your Knights shirts or name badges.

The Supreme Knight asked all of us to accelerate our efforts to work with our pastors to strengthen our parishes and seek to strengthen Christian family life. To help bring parishioners together in a spiritual activity and promote devotion to Mary, the Knights of Columbus Supreme council announced this new church activity, the 5th Sunday Rosary Program. Knights, their families and other parishioners are encouraged to pray the rosary as a corporate body every time a 5th Sunday occurs during a month. OLMC 10th Annual Golf Tournament

golf courseThe 10th Annual OLMC Golf Tournament, in memory of Andy Soesilo, will be held Saturday, May 6, 2016 at the Kokopelli Golf Course in Gilbert.  Proceeds from the tournament will be used to support the Full Circle Program, a ministry serving families with teens/young adults who are struggling with a range of issues that can challenge the very foundation of any household. Other OLMC parish, school, and KofC sponsored charities will also benefit.  The tournament is open to golfers of all skill levels.  A flyer with event details as well as a registration form are available here.  Register now!  Both players and volunteers are needed. KofC Christian Refugee Relief Fund

Council 6627 has paired with the City of the Lord group to provide a donation to the Knights of Columbus Christian Refugee Relief Fund. The City of the Lord recently raised $814 in donations that our Council is chipping in $186, to make an even $1,000 donation. One of the primary functions of this fund is to help the Christians in Syria who are being persecuted or forced to relocate. See more on this worthy cause at:

Golf Tournament Ticket Sales

We are also starting our Golf Tournament (May 6th) signups this weekend.  At whatever mass you attend, stop by the sign-up table in the Shrine Area to help assist with signups and passing out brochures for the tournament.  Signups will continue after all Mass Times from this weekend through April 29th weekend. As Kevin Saunders from the Arizona Bible class states “Come out and help Golf for God!”. Thanks again to Rudy Gradillas for coordinating this as our Golf Tournament Director this year!

*Aid to Women Center Baby Bottle Drive – Your efforts with the Aid to Women Center drive netted the center $7500 in donations!  Great Job!
*Knights Youth Basketball Free Throw – Our Knights Free Throw competitors from OLMC, won in 3 First place categories last weekend at the District Tournament!  Thank you to Pat Kedrowski for chairing this and to all for volunteering to help!

*PID Drive – At the last Fish Fry a check for just under $1,000 was presented to the representatives from the Arc of Tempe from our PID drive last year.  Like checks are also being sent to the Getz School and St. Dominic Savio.  Thanks again to Jordan Smith for running this and to all who helped!

Aid to Women’s Center Baby Bottle Fundraiser

On January 21-22, after all masses, Knights are needed to assist in handing out bottles for the Aid to Women’s Center fundraising drive.  The bottles are handed out and can be filled with change and returned to OLMC the weekend of February 18-19.  Knights will be needed to assist in collecting the returned bottles on Feb 18-19 as well.
